BARCA TO WRAP UP DEPAY DEAL IN THE COMING DAYS

Although many Barcelona fans are already getting fed up with the delay in finalizing the transfer, the Spanish La Liga giants are said to be reportedly very close to reaching a total agreement with Memphis Depay in the coming days. This is according to football transfer expert and respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, who made a post on his Instagram Story via his official Instagram account, stating that the deal could be completed and announced in just a few days.

Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Catalan giants have been in discussions with Memphis since before leaving Lyon at the end of last season following his announcement that he will not be signing a new deal with the French club. Since then, Barca have been hot on his chase and are currently looking to beat the rising competition coming from French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

After losing Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG already this summer, Barca are wary that a similar scenario could happen with the Depay deal and have reportedly hastened conversations with the free agent in a bid to get the deal over the line as soon as possible. Depay is currently away with the Netherlands national team on international duty representing the country at the Euros and being one of the country's most important players, he is not expected to leave the Dutch team's camp and travel to Barcelona to sign his new deal.

Hence, it is believed that if Barca can finally agree to the player's wage demands and everything else ironed out, they can wait until after the Euros for him to come and make the transfer official and a subsequent announcement can follow suit.

Depay is seen as Ronald Koeman's favorite attacking target and that's why Barca want to get the deal done quickly.
