BARCELONA ASSEMBLING POSSIBLE SUMMER SIGNINGS

Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly working really hard behind the scenes to assemble their future players as the summer transfer window continues to approach so fast. The Catalan giants have, according to reports, come close to completing the free transfer signing of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

The 25-year-old is in the final few months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and having already completed part of his medical, he is expected to finalise a Bosman switch to Camp Nou imminently, before arriving at the club in the summer.
Now, Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is claiming that the Catalan giants are far from done with their forays into the free-agent pool. Once the deal for Christensen is over the line, Barça will turn their focus on closing agreements to sign his Chelsea teammate and captain Cesar Azpilicueta, along with AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie and AFC Ajax right-back Noussair Mazraoui.

Talks of a move for Azpilicueta have been doing rounds for months and it has been previously reported that the deal is all but done. However, there has been a complication as Chelsea have a unilateral option to extend his contract by another year.
It could stop him from leaving on a free transfer, although talks are ongoing as he looks to convince the Blues to not trigger the extension. If signed, the 32-year-old would provide cover at every position in the backline at Barcelona and add his leadership skills to the table.
As for Kessie, the Ivory Coast international is believed to have reached an agreement over a move to Camp Nou, with his contract at AC Milan running out at the end of the season. The 25-year-old powerhouse will add a different flavour to the Barça midfield contingent and can be a good long-term signing.
