Barcelona Facing Strong Competition In Haaland Chase

According to a report which was released by the Daily Mail in the past week, Barcelona have strengthened their interest in Borussia Dortmund's prolific striker Erling Haaland as they look to bolster their attacking options after they allowed veteran striker Luis Suarez to leave the club in the past transfer window.

However, “the latest reports making the rounds are all suggesting that the Catalan giants will be facing stiff competition in their attempt to lure the Norwegian striker to the Camp Nou. Haaland has been in sublime form for Dortmund in both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League since signing for the German club, and there's little surprise that there are so many clubs hot on his chase.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have made inquiries about what it will take to convince the 20-year-old to swap Germany for Spain and have been putting in so much work to ensure that they seal the transfer as soon as possible. It is believed that Barcelona will need to get rid of a number of players before they can afford Haaland and comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) guidelines, and have also set their sights on him as a potential replacement for Lionel Messi who is expected to leave Barcelona at the end of the season.

“The Daily Mail have also reported that Barcelona are not the only club interested in signing Haaland, as their bitter rivals Real Madrid have joined the race for the striker. The Los Blancos want to sign Haaland and Mbappé in a two-galactico signing as they look to return to the Champions League next season with a strong statement of intent as major title contenders.

Chelsea, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, and Liverpool have also been touted as clubs interested in signing Haaland this summer.
