CHELSEA CAN WIN
Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Eidur Gudjohnsen has said that Chelsea can easily overcome Barcelona at the Camp Nou, despite the fact that many has expressed their fears that Chelsea may be overrun in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.
Chelsea will be looking to get into the Champions League final after a gap of four years.
Back then, Chelsea lost in the 2008 final against Manchester United on penalties, with John Terry coming extremely close to lifting the title. Eidur Gudjohnsen believes that many at Chelsea want to win the trophy so badly this year that they will perform exceptionally well at the Camp Nou.
Chelsea go into the match against Barcelona with a 1-0 lead from the first leg after a goal from Didier Drogba separated the two sides a week ago. Even though Barcelona threatened the goal a lot, Chelsea managed to score with their only effort on target.
Eidur Gudjohnsen believes that it is very important that Chelsea replicate their performance at Stamford Bridge in order to get through to the final. He says that it will not be different for the second leg because Barcelona will be having the same amount of possession, but it is up to Chelsea to stop them creating chances.
"Chelsea have given themselves great hope by the way they defended at Stamford Bridge. They rode their luck a little bit but they believe they can win. At Stamford Bridge they were very tactically organised. They limited the space for Barcelona to play in. They will need to do that for 90 minutes in the Nou Camp. It is a very difficult task but they have done it once," said Gudjohnsen looking ahead to the second leg encounter between the two clubs.
Real Madrid will be at home to Bayern Munich in the other semi-final.
