Chelsea was knocked out of the Champions League
Chelsea was knocked out of the Champions League after losing against PSG in the round of 16 stages of the European competition.
It was thrilling match from start till the very end and even though it was the French team that managed to come out on top with the victory as they secured their ticket into the quarter-finals of the Champions League, this triumph came at a cost as Zlatan Ibrahimovic received a red card and he will not be able to perform in the upcoming quarter-finals match of PSG against Barcelona.
The first leg of the quarter-finals match between PSG and Barcelona will be taking place on April 15 as the French team received Barcelona at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris.
Luis Enrique has at his disposal all of his top players but the Spanish manager is well aware of the danger that PSG represents and Enrique considers the French team to be one of the top candidates on winning the Champions League.
Barcelona’s Luis Enrique said: "They're very dangerous and we have a lot of respect for them. We have experience from the group stage, with a win and a defeat. After beating Chelsea they showed they're a strong candidate to win the competition."
The Brazilian right-back of Barcelona, Dani Alves will not be able to play in the quarter-finals match against PSG but this isn’t such a big absence in comparison to PSG who will have to play this upcoming game without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Verratti.
Paris Saint-Germain had to take out a titan in their journey of making it into the quarter-finals stages but in order to continue advancing any further, another titan is lying ahead of PSG and it’s the same club that managed to eliminate them from the 2012-13 season of the Champions League.
Will things change this time around or is PSG destined to fall short against Europe’s elite?
