NETO ATTRACTING INTEREST FROM FLAMENGO - REPORT
Barcelona shot stopper Neto could return to his native Brazil on the back of his reports that Brazilian Serie A giants Flamengo want to sign him. The interest of Flamengo in the Barcelona goalkeeper was disclosed via a report from Diario Sport which stated that Flamengo have already held talks for Neto and that they want to sign him either in the winter transfer window which opened on Saturday or during the summer's transfer window.
Neto has failed to dislodge Marc Andre TerStegen as the first choice goalkeeper at the Nou Camp following his arrival from fellow Spanish La Liga side Valencia in 2019. He has played just eleven times for Barcelona in the league over the course of three seasons.
It has been established that Brazilian international Neto will welcome a move back home after spending the last one decade on the European football scene playing for clubs such as Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia and Barcelona. Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is not expected to block his move away from the Nou Camp if he has made up his mind to leave the club. The Catalans have a good replacement for him in Inaki Pena though there has been transfer rumours linking the young goalkeeper with a move away from Barcelona.
Neto has played two times for Barcelona this season as he filled in for the injured TerStegen during the Spanish La Liga games against the Basque duo of Real Sociedad and Athletic Bilbao. The Brazilian shot stopper has not played for the Catalan giants this season since those two games against Sociedad and Bilbao. His best chance of getting a game for Barcelona this season is through the Copa Del Rey unless there's an injury or suspension for TerStegen.
