Barcelona finally lost against Real Madrid

Barcelona is actually a team which is known for snatching points from the opposition and not for handing out points.

But, on Saturday, when they were playing Madrid, the latter was the case as the Catalan giants tasted their 4th defeat in the Spanish top tier in the 2015-16 Season.

Defeat itself was indigestible, but, more than that, the position from which it came, it would have been dispiriting and would probably cause a few of the Barcelona players lose a couple of nights’ sleep.

If you have a 10-man opposition in front of you and you are playing at home and you are Barcelona, you win. It’s simple as that, isn’t it?

Well, of course, Ronaldo is there to do the job for Madrid all the time and he did it again, the big Portuguese. Credit is certainly due to be given there, not only to him, but, to Madrid as a team.

Anytime, you have a win playing away in as big a League as Liga is and that too playing Barcelona, it’s special and you must have shown significant amount of skill to pull it off.

But, ask the Madrid supporters, even the most hardcore of them would not have bet for a favourable result in the favour of the team at the point when Ramos marched off.

It had got to take an insane effort from Madrid and some softness from Barcelona for the eventual result and well, it happened to be exactly that.

And, that’s why; Gerard Pique didn’t take a second in saying post-match that a hungrier team won on the night.
However, in spite of what happened, Barcelona is still winning the League by the looks of it, but, what it showed is that they might have some chunks in their armoury.
