Barcelona second Title win

Barcelona sealed a second consecutive league title after a 3-0 win over Granada in the final day of the 2015-16 season.

Luis Enrique praised the performance of his players after having pipped Real Madrid by just one point. Barcelona seemed to be heading for a comfortable finish to the league title race only in the start of March. April was especially a bad month for Barcelona and they allowed Madrid and Atletico to reduce a 10 point deficit to almost nothing in the space of a few weeks. Just when it seemed that Barcelona would capitulate and end up handing over the title to either one of the Madrid teams, they woke up in the last few games of the season to just about win the title.

This was the sixth title lifted by Barcelona in the last eight seasons. The Catalan club have undoubtedly been the most dominant force in Spain over the last decade. Even then, they celebrated the title success with joy and manager Luis Enrique claimed that each title success matters since the players have put a lot of effort. Opposition manager Zinedine Zidane claimed that Barcelona fully deserved the title since they had been the most consistent team over the 12 months. Since Zidane took over from Rafa Benitez, Madrid lost only one game in the league.

"We played very well over the full season, were many weeks on top of the table, and the most consistent team wins the title. I am very happy for all Barca fans, for our families and the club. People suffer a lot in some moments, and now we have won six of the last eight titles -- which shows this club has a winning mentality. We must value each title win, it is worth a lot," said Enrique.
