Barcelona insist Neymar will not be sold this summer

Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu has cited that Neymar will stay put at the Camp Nou as it is highly unlikely that Paris Saint-Germain will trigger his hefty release clause.

The Brazil international has a £196m escape clause on his present contract, but Bartomeu insists that Les Parisiens would have to break the Financial Fair Play regulations in order to pursue the 25-year-old forward.

XAVI TAKES AIM

Former Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez has a very strict opinion when it comes to signing players who leave Barca for the big contracts (like Bellerin did) only to profess their love for the club and beg for a return as soon as they make it big!

Hector Bellerin is a 22 year old defender who began his playing career in the youth academy of Barcelona but chose to move to Arsenal, where he has a contract with which extends until 2023. Tabloid press have linked the Spanish club with bringing Bellerin back to Camp Nou but Xavi Hernandez on the other hand has a very different opinion about bringing Hector Bellerin back.

Ander Herrera to ignore Barcelona interest this Summer

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera will reportedly snub a reunion with Ernesto Valverde at Barcelona in order to stay put at Old Trafford next season.

The 27-year-old joined the Red Devils from Athletic Bilbao back in the summer of 2015, and had spent his initial years trying to find his best position. Under Jose Mourinho, Herrera was deployed in a deep lying central midfield role last season, and this managed to get the best of his abilities.

Recently appointed ambassador wants to sign Veratti

"Abidal will form a permanent part of the globetrotting veterans team, as well as collaborating with institutional events... assisting with activities related with the FCBEscola soccer schools.

He will always be fondly remembered here at the Camp Nou and it is with great joy that we can now welcome him back to the club in a permanent capacity."

Christian Tello open to Barcelona return

Spanish footballer Christian Tello could return to Barcelona for the final year of his contract after Fiorentina decided against exercising the buy option on his loan contract.

The 25-year-old joined La Viola on an initial six-month loan in January 2016 which was extended by a further year last summer.

Tello, who has attracted previous Premier League interest, has not quite lived to his early hype, and he is currently assessing his future with a Barcelona comeback also an option under new boss Ernesto Valverde.

BARCA SHOULD NOT FEIGN IGNORANCE

So despite a good start to the season and even a blistering run at some point, Luis Enrique looks set to depart Camp Nou with one trophy in his final season should they beat Alaves to the Copa del Rey on May 27.

When the 46-year old took up the baton and led them to a treble in his first season, this summer divorce was at very least expected.

Luis Enrique Not Looking at Real Madrid Results Going into Final Game

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique claims that the club will be only focusing on getting three points in the final game against Eibar.

He says that the focus will not be on Real Madrid’s result against Malaga. The two teams go into the final game of the season with an opportunity to win the La Liga title. Madrid are clearly the favourites after having established a three-point advantage following their 4-1 win over Celta de Vigo in the midweek action. Even a draw for Madrid in the match against Malaga will be sufficient, as they have a three point advantage.

GUARDIOLA SAYS HE WOULD HAVE LOST HIS JOB

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is facing pressure at the Etihad. He has previously worked with Barcelona and Bayern Munich, elite teams in Europe. After a big spending budget last summer, he failed to deliver any trophy. He managed to get a top four spot so the team can play Champions League football next year.

The Spanish tactician has said that if he were to finish the way he did this season at City in either Barca or Bayern, he would have lost his job. While at Barcelona, he lifted six titles in a year. He won the Champions League twice and the La Liga twice, aside other titles. In Germany, he delivered the league every year and took the team to the semi-final of the Champions League for the three years he stayed.

Luis Enrique Confident of El Clasico Success

Luis Enrique says that Barcelona are ready for the El Clasico, despite suffering badly from the Champions League exit at the hands of Juventus.

A 3-0 aggregate loss against the Italian club sees a lot of pressure on Enrique in his final season at the club. He has already announced his exit from Barcelona at the end of the campaign. After having already won the Champions League earlier in his time at Barcelona, the manager would have been hoping for a similar success his final season. Now it has gone out of the hands, the club must focus on the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey.

Luis Enrique Says Exertions against PSG Played a Role in Loss against Deportivo

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique watched his team go from the euphoria of a 6-1 win over Paris St Germain in the Champions League to suffering a 2-1 loss against Deportivo La Coruna during the weekend.

This result is a huge setback for the club in the La Liga title race – especially after watching Real Madrid get a win against Real Betis later in the day. Barcelona created history by becoming the first team to overturn a 4-0 deficit for the first leg of the Champions League match against Paris St Germain. It was an incredible game which saw the Spanish club progress into the quarter-finals after a 6-5 win on aggregate.
